Community involvement

Our school values strong partnerships with our families and wider community. At Oatley West Public School, parents and carers are encouraged to get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C), School Club and volunteer opportunities across the school. Whether supporting events, helping with activities or contributing ideas and feedback, your time and involvement play an important role in strengthening our school community and enriching the learning experiences of our students.
Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

Oatley West Public School has an active and enthusiastic association of Parents and Citizens (P&C) which represents local citizens, parents and carers of children at our school.

They assist with school planning, fundraising, events and volunteering. Our P&C works in partnership with our school to promote the interests of our school community.

Joining the P&C a great way to meet other families, get involved and contribute to our school's future. We would love to have you on board!

Our P&C Annual General Meeting is held once a year where Executive roles are filled for the year ahead. Minutes of each meeting are kept by the Secretary and distributed to financial members.

In addition to the P&C executive, our P&C also has a group of sub-committees including Community Festival, Music Council and Uniform Shopwhich provide facilities, services and support to the school and the students. Being part of a sub-committee is a great way to be involved with our P&C, meet other Oatley West Public School parents and support our school and children.

School Club
At Oatley West Public School, School Club provides parents and carers with an opportunity to become actively involved in school life, stay informed about school initiatives and support the wider school community. The club helps strengthen connections between families and the school through fundraising activities and initiatives such as Cake Days, Father’s Day and Mother’s Day stalls. School Club helps raise valuable funds that go directly back into supporting classroom resources and enriching learning opportunities for students across the school.
Oatley West Community Festival

The Oatley West Public School Community Festival is the school’s largest annual fundraising event and a long-standing tradition within the local community. Originally known as the Art and Craft Show, the festival has been running for more than 45 years and brings together students, families, staff and the wider community for a weekend of entertainment, activities and celebration.

The festival features rides, market stalls, food, games, live performances, raffles, auctions and the much-loved Art Show showcasing works from students, local and emerging artists. Funds raised through the event are managed by the school P&C and go directly towards improving school facilities, classroom resources, technology, play spaces and student learning opportunities.

Beyond fundraising, the Community Festival celebrates the strong spirit and connection within the Oatley West Public School community, creating opportunities for families and local businesses to become involved and support the school.
