Attendance
At Oatley West Public School, regular attendance is vital to your child’s learning, growth, and wellbeing. Every day at school gives students valuable opportunities to build knowledge, develop friendships, and engage in dynamic lessons that inspire success. Consistent attendance helps students stay connected, confident, and ready to reach their full potential in a supportive and vibrant school environment. We encourage all families to partner with us in making every school day count.
What should I do if my child is running late?
Students should arrive on time every day.
Any student arriving after the 9:25am bell must be accompanied by a parent or carer to the front office to sign in.
If your child is unwell or unable to attend, please notify the school and provide the reason for their absence through School Bytes.
What should I do if my child needs to leave early?
If you need to collect your child early from school, you will be required to attend the front office to have your child signed out. Office staff will contact the classroom teacher, and the student will come to the office for collection with their bag.
Please note that only parents or carers are permitted to collect their own child from school early. If you wish to nominate another person, the school must be notified in advance. The nominated person must present identification to office staff when collecting your child.
Whenever possible, please schedule appointments outside of school hours, though we understand this is not always feasible.
