We take great pride in the appearance of the children at Oatley West Public School and encourage all students to wear the correct school uniform.
Purchases: The Uniform Shop is open for your convenience every Thursday from 9-10am at the end of G Block.
Exchanges: Exchanges can only be made on Thursday when the shop is open. If you can’t come in to see us when we are open, please leave your exchange at the school office in a bag, with your child’s name and class noted as well as details for the exchange. If the error is ours, please contact us at owpsuniform@gmail.com
Uniform Orders: Orders can be made online at Home | Oatley West Public School Uniform Shop (square.site) Alternatively, order forms (dated October 2022) can be completed and dropped into Letterbox 8 located in the front courtyard. Please note, orders are not accepted via e-mail. All orders will be delivered to students' classrooms on Thursday when the shop is open, provided the order is received prior to 9.30am on Thursday. The preferred payment method for orders is by Credit Card, as we cannot be held accountable for lost cash/orders. Cards are generally debited one day prior to delivery.
Class Names: Please ensure you nominate your child’s full class name on the order form e.g. 5/6 Pink not 5/6P. The full class name allows us to be able to find a students’ class for easier delivery.
Volunteers needed: If you have a spare hour on Thursday mornings from 9-10am, please consider volunteering at the Uniform Shop. Whether it’s once a fortnight, month or term, all help is greatly appreciated.
NB: A free Volunteers Working with Children check will be required if you wish to volunteer in any capacity at the school.
Summer Uniform: The Summer Uniform is worn Monday to Thursday, beginning in Term 1, until Mother’s Day. It is then worn again after Father’s Day. The summer uniform consists of the following:
Girls - Summer Dress, worn with blue socks, black shoes, zip jacket (as required) and school hat
Culottes with the short sleeve blue polo (with school logo), are also available as an alternative to the dress. Generally, the girls in years K-2 wear the dress. Blue socks and black shoes are worn with the culottes
Boys - Grey shorts with short sleeve blue polo (with school logo), worn with grey striped school socks, black shoes, zip jacket (as required) and school hat
Winter Uniform: The Winter Uniform is worn Monday to Thursday the day after Mother’s Day, until Father’s Day. The winter uniform consists of the following:
Girls - Winter Tunic with long sleeve blue polo (with school logo), worn with grey tights, black shoes, zip jacket and school hat
Charcoal Bootleg Pants with the long sleeve blue polo (with school logo) are also available as an alternative to the tunic. Generally, the girls in years K-2 wear the tunic. Blue socks and black shoes are to be worn with the bootleg pants
Boys - Gaberdine pants with long sleeve blue polo (with school logo), worn with grey striped school socks, black shoes, zip jacket and school hat
Sports Uniform – The Sports Uniform is worn every Friday, all year round. Kindy, Year 1 and Year 2 are also required to wear their Sports Uniform one additional day each week. There will be occasions where students will be required to wear their Sports Uniform on other nominated days, such as a sporting carnival or school excursion - this will be with prior notification. The Sports Uniform consists of the following:
Girls/Boys - Gold polo (with school logo) and black sport shorts (with gold OWPS embroidery), worn with white sport socks, sport shoes, zip jacket (as required) and school hat
In cold weather, plain black tracksuit pants or plain black leggings are permitted as an alternative to the sport shorts. Tracksuit pants, leggings and white socks are not sold at the Uniform Shop.
Hats - All students must wear a school hat (with school logo). Caps are not part of the School Uniform. Oatley West follows guidelines set by the Department of Education in respect to Safe Sun practices. If a student is not wearing a hat, they will be instructed to go to a shaded area
Shoes – All students wear black shoes Monday to Thursday. Sport shoes are worn for sports days and on Fridays. Shoes are not sold at the Uniform Shop.
Socks – Girls wear blue (saxe) socks, boys wear custom made grey socks with red and gold stripes
Library Bag – All students are required to have a library bag. Although the library bag we sell is not compulsory, it is a dual-purpose lightweight bag which can also be used for excursions. The features of this bag are the Velcro closure, drawstring opening, fluoro reflectors and identification pocket window
School Bag - All students are required to have a school bag. Our school bags are supplied by Spartan and are ergonomically designed to provide comfort and support for students. If looked after properly, this bag should easily last from Kindy through to Year 6
Clothing items in similar colours and styles are NOT acceptable uniform.
All items of school uniform are available for all students to wear. Students can make a selection from the available options, to decide what is most comfortable.
We will happily exchange or refund if:
· You have your receipt
· The goods are returned within 30 days of purchase
· The goods are in their original condition (with tags and packaging intact for resale).
